Hot Hair: Emmy Rossum's Curly Cute Updo!

I love Emmy Rossum's hair in the picture above! Looks super cute and is super easy to do! Perfect for going out to coffee with the girls, going shopping, and even for school/college!
What you need:
  • Bobby pins
  • Hairspray
  • Hair elastic
  • Curling Iron
  • Heat Protectant
  • Hair Brush
How to get the look!:
  1. Apply a heat protectant to your hair and brush it through in order for it to be evenly distributed
  2. Now it's time to curl your hair! To get super tight curls like Emmy's a clampless small curling iron is preferred but don't worry you can use basically any curling iron! Just wrap small sections (the smaller sections, the tighter the curl) and spritz with  hairspray after your done. If it looks too done up for your taste then just tip your head upside down and tousle it up!
  3. Lightly tie your now-curly hair into a messy high ponytail letting sections fall out to frame your face. Then wrap the ponytail around itself gently to form a messy bun and pin in place. This step is optional, if you want to leave it as a curly cute ponytail, you totally can!
  4. Hairspray again if you like, it's completely optional and just twist and pin any sections you don't want around your face
(p.s Sorry I haven't updated regularly in a while, I have major exams going on but as soon as they are over, I'll be back posting regularly :) !)

Love The Look!: It's Electric Blue Baby

Singer/rapper Eve above rocks the electric blue look! It's super fun makeup that would be great for going to a club or a fun photoshoot! Looks cute and is easy to do, want to know how?
How to get the look:
  • Face- Dewy or matte foundation it's all up to what you prefer!
  • Cheeks- Eve has on a pretty pink blush accentuating her cheekbones but if you don't want to go too dramatic then opt for a peachy-golden blush instead
  • Eyes- This part is simple, take an electric blue or royal blue eyeshadow and apply on your upper eye-lids and the outer third of  your  lower lashline (this would be the most flattering way to apply the colour to not go overboard). For a pop of brightness add a shimmery highlight colour to the inner corners of your eyes, this helps accentuate and 'pretty-up' the eyes. Eve seems to have a black eyeshadow on the outer third of her crease and upper eyelid and outer third of her lower lashline. Add some black eyeliner and black mascara and voila!
  • Lips- To counteract the drama of the eyes apply a pretty pink or peach lipstick and top with gloss and your done!
(p.s wondering why Eve's makeup focused on the outer third of her eyes? It's a common trick used to accentuate the eyes and make it appear more almond or cat-like!)

Beauty Tidbit: Save Overplucked Brows!

Ahh what we do for beautiful brows! We've all done it, we're plucking away to get that perfect shape and oops we went a little too far. This has happened to me a few times, my tweezers just keep going and going! But don't worry it's not the end of the world because these eyebrow-saving tips are right below!

Tips:
  1. Think realistically: Brows take about 4-6 weeks to grow back, but it's different for everyone some eyebrows will start growing back a few days to a week after over-tweezing!
  2. Diet: It's all about diet, your hair grows quicker when you have a healthy diet so the same applies for eyebrows. Just eat healthy and if you can, take some hair, nail, & skin supplements that help the growth process also. I also heard that bananas help your hair grow fast, maybe this applies to eyebrows as well? Not sure, so if anyone tries it let me know!
  3. Fill it in with an eyebrow pencil: An eyebrow pencil is your new best friend! It will temporarily fill in those sparse and over-tweezed areas while you are waiting for your brows to grow back. Make sure to choose a shade one to two shades lighter than your actual hair colour.
  4. Toothbrush and Vaseline: When I overtweezed my eyebrow and was desperate I came upon this trick on the internet. I do it every night and it really does help! Unfortunately you are not going to get your brows back after one night of doing this but after a week you will start seeing an improvement. Basically what you need is a clean toothbrush (a separate one from the one you use to brush your teeth), rub it in circular motions on the parts of your brows you want to grow. This is going to help with blood circulation which will enable growth. Then apply vaseline onto the areas you want to grow. Vaseline is used in order to provide moisture and helps growth.
I hope these tips have helped and just remember think positive and don't think about your eyebrow dillemma and they will grow back faster than you think!

Love the Look!: Ooh La La Romance

One of my favourite looks, doesn't the picture above just epitomize everything we girls love about romantic looks? Tousled messy low bun or braid, a romantic hair adornment, soft smokey copper/bronze eyes, flushed pink lips and a pink stained lip! Love it!
How to get the look:
  • Eyes: Just put some bronze or copper eyeshadow on your lids and underneath your lower lashline and blend blend blend for a smokey but natural eye and then add some mascara !
  • Cheeks: The model above seems to just have some pink blush on the apples of the cheeks to give a flushed look.
  • Lips: That soft, not quite lipstick look is given by using a lipstain! I love lipstains, they deliver colour, literally last for ages and it doesn't make you look as done up as you would with a lipstick. My suggestion, is to use Covergirl Lipstains, they're the best!
  • Hair: Let a few face framing, pieces out and tie the rest of your hair into a low messy bun to give that romantic look. If you have time curl your hair with a curling iron before putting it into a messy bun to get texture and waves. In the picture above the model is also wearing a necklace on her head, bobby-pinned in place!
