Hot Hair: Mermaid Waves

Easy, quick and gorgeous pretty much sums up what I look for when styling my hair. The most common variation is to simply do one braid on each side from the ear down with almost dry hair and leave for a couple of hours, or overnight. If you don't have enough time that's fine! Simply blow dry your braids. For myself I usually need 90-95% dry hair to get optimal results.
Some Tips: For bigger, looser waves opt for one braid, for tighter waves opt for the two etc etc. When I wanted that frizzy but sexy Carrie Bradshaw hair I would do braids all over my head!

Hot Hair: Nicole Richie-esque Headscarves!

Bad hair day? Thank goodness for headscarves! You can wear them in a multitude of ways, and they disguise bad hair days! Just like Nicole Richie in the picture above; just throw your hair up in a messy bun, leave your bangs/fringe out and add a pretty headscarf to finish off the look! It gives a very 'I just threw this on' look, very effortless! I love headscarves I have quite a few from leopard print to plaid, you can throw it on whenever and it can change up your look. It's also super-cute for school/college!
(p.s major exams are over for now so I'm baaaack to blogging :D!)

Hot Hair: Emmy Rossum's Curly Cute Updo!

I love Emmy Rossum's hair in the picture above! Looks super cute and is super easy to do! Perfect for going out to coffee with the girls, going shopping, and even for school/college!
What you need:
  • Bobby pins
  • Hairspray
  • Hair elastic
  • Curling Iron
  • Heat Protectant
  • Hair Brush
How to get the look!:
  1. Apply a heat protectant to your hair and brush it through in order for it to be evenly distributed
  2. Now it's time to curl your hair! To get super tight curls like Emmy's a clampless small curling iron is preferred but don't worry you can use basically any curling iron! Just wrap small sections (the smaller sections, the tighter the curl) and spritz with  hairspray after your done. If it looks too done up for your taste then just tip your head upside down and tousle it up!
  3. Lightly tie your now-curly hair into a messy high ponytail letting sections fall out to frame your face. Then wrap the ponytail around itself gently to form a messy bun and pin in place. This step is optional, if you want to leave it as a curly cute ponytail, you totally can!
  4. Hairspray again if you like, it's completely optional and just twist and pin any sections you don't want around your face
(p.s Sorry I haven't updated regularly in a while, I have major exams going on but as soon as they are over, I'll be back posting regularly :) !)

Hot Hair!: Bangin' It!

Whether you want a blunt, dramatic look or an edgy, rock and roll one, bangs/fringe can change up your look in an instant! Lea Michelle (above) is rocking an edgy piecey, eye grazing fringe that draws the attention to her eyes and gives her a gorgeous overall look!  If you are interested in getting the cut, you might want to be aware of the maintenance that comes with it, see the tips for the look below!

Tips for the look:
  • Straight hair: Ladies with straight hair don't need to worry about fringe maintenance, lucky you!
  • Wavy hair: I personally have wavy hair and have had a fringe before so I know from experience that a handy blow-dryer/hair straightener helps avoid a wonky fringe!
  • Curly hair: Make sure to avoid a frizzy fringe by using products that help combat frizz!
  • Washing the fringe: Make sure to wash your fringe everyday as it can tend to get oilier than the rest of your hair, and can therefore lead to forehead breakouts!
Despite the things you have to take into consideration, getting the cut can have fringe-tastic benefits such as; drawing the attention to your eyes, hiding accidentally over plucked eyebrows or a large forehead. It can also add an edgy or dramatic look as well!

A Little Crush On: Ian Somerhalder!

Enjoying the shirtless picture of Ian above ladies? Yes Ian Somerhalder is hot, hot, hot!  He plays the bad-boy , with a sensitive side (swoon!)Damon Salvatore on the hit show The Vampire Diaries! You might have also seen him on Lost! His tousled 'Romeo' hair, smouldering emerald eyes, chisselled and rugged features and a unique sense of style all add to his appeal! It's interesting to note that he is apparently dating his Vampire Diaries co-star Nina Dobrev (who plays Elena), I guess that sizzling on-screen chemistry transferred off-screen as well!

Hot Hair!: Braided Ponytail!

I am really liking the braided ponytail at the moment! I think it looks super cute and pretty. Sorry the picture above isn't of the best quality but as you can see that the scene is from Gossip Girl, where Serena (Blake Lively) on the right, is rocking the look. The great thing is that it is super easy and can be done in minutes! Below I've attached a youtube link which will show you how to do it step by step, but for the basic how-to for the look;
How to get the look:
  1. Pull your hair into a high ponytail and secure with an elastic
  2. Braid your ponytail (you can braid it halfway or all the way, it's all up to you!) and secure with an elastic

Hot Hair!: A Pretty Updo with Kim Kardashian!

This updo is cute, casual and super easy to do! Adding a headband like Kim Kardashian did in the picture above also adds a cute detail. In my opinion, the updo looks somewhere in between grecian goddess and ballerina babe.

Tips for the look:
  • For curly hair: If you already have curly or wavy hair just make a messy bun quite high up on your head and then add a headband similar to the one Kim has.
  • For straight/wavy hair: Curl your hair beforehand, spritz with hairspray, make a messy bun quite high up on your head and add a headband!
